Subject: Properties of the method of determining the arrival angle of acoustic wave using indirect measurement of phase shift – Why is it so good?

In acoustic echolocation methods, one of the main parameters is the speed of wave propagation. It depends on the air temperature. Changes in temperature, and thus changes in propagation velocity, can significantly affect the properties of these methods. In the case of the method determining the azimuth angle of the signal arrival using indirect phase shift measurement, this effect is negligibly small. This is despite the fact that the properties of this method are strongly related to the geometry of the distribution of the receivers. Explanation of this fact as well as presentation of the impact of signal interference on measurement results is the main topic of this seminar.
