During September 1-15th the representatives of our department: Drs Elżbieta Roszkowska, Alicja Mazur, Krzysztof Arent, and Witold Paluszyński have been visiting the Xidian University in the city of Xi'an in China.

The visit was the first stage of bilateral cooperation between our department and the Systems Control and Automation Group, School of Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Xidian University. It is part of an agreement between the governments of the People's Republic of China and Poland. The cooperation will encompass the transfer of knowledge and the identification of the possible areas of common research on flexible manufacturing systems, and control of robotic and cognitive systems. During the visit, the Polish scientists gave a series of lectures, both introductory and advanced, and met with the authorities of the Xidian University. The coordinator of the project from the Polish side is Dr. Elżbieta Roszkowska, and from the Chinese side - Prof. Zhiwu Li, the head the of Systems, Control and Automation Group. The second stage of the cooperation, including the visit of the Chinese scientists at the Department of Cybernetics and Robotics, will take place in June 2016.
